Champion Tool Hire is Basingstoke’s leading independent name in tool hire and sales having traded since 2003 as Martins Tool Hire.
We offer a ‘one stop shop’ for all your plant and tool requirements including a delivery and collection service, a fully stocked shop and a quality service and repairs centre.

From behind the counter in the depot to the drivers out on site we promise friendly, reliable and knowledgeable service ensuring you get the right tool for the right price at the right time. We also offer a guaranteed next day local delivery (within 20 miles of our depot) on all hire and sales items for orders placed before 4pm.

What Hire Periods Are Available?
Most products can be hired by the day or the week. Definitions are as follows:
- Minimum hire* - Duration of 4 hours. Must be either a morning or afternoon.
- One day - Any period not exceeding 24 hours.
- A weekend** - From 08:00 Saturday to 09:00 on the following Monday. If available equipment can be collected late on Friday afternoon.
- Week - Any period of seven consecutive days, expiring at close of business on the seventh day, i.e. one week hire commencing on a Tuesday terminates at close of business on the following Monday.
* Delivery/Collection is not available with the minimum hire period.
** The weekend cannot be combined with adjacent days e.g. Friday to Sunday is charged as 3 days.
Account Customers
Opening an account with Champion Tool Hire offers you numerous benefits. Not only does it give you the added flexibility of our generous credit terms to manage your finances, it also puts you in the position to benefit from our trade only offers.
We are also proud to reward loyal trade account customers with discounted hire rates dependent on level of spend.
Opening a credit account could not be easier. Application forms can be downloaded from our website or collected in store.
Non-Account Customers
We welcome both trade and domestic customers at Champion Tool Hire and are happy to offer our services to those without a trade account. You will not pay any different amount from the list prices detailed in this book.
Our requirements for non account customers are simple:
- Two forms of ID (one photo and one proof of address]
- Vehicle registration number
- Any relevant competency certificates
We also require a deposit which is taken from you at point of hire and is based on the weekly hire rate and/or value of the machine in question.
Hire Insurance
Why have the worry of insuring the equipment against loss or damage whilst you have it on hire?
We offer a generous hire insurance policy for all hires* where the individual does not have the relevant insurance for the machinery in question. With us it’s simple, Champion Tool Hire will insure the equipment for the full duration of the hire period against loss, accidental damage and theft. A charge is levied against the contract up to the value of 10% of the hire charge.
It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.
